Alma Apartments is a 39-unit affordable housing community designed to support low-income seniors, individuals with disabilities, and survivors of domestic violence.
The courtyard-style building features a flexible community space that prioritizes safety, encourages social connection, and offers visual interest. Thoughtful attention was given to the layout and programming of the shared courtyard, as well as the private outdoor spaces for each unit. At the heart of the courtyard is an accessible community garden, designed for use by all residents. The planting design blends seasonal color with edible species, creating a vibrant, engaging, and functional landscape that enhances daily life.
